The Amazing Card

Okay now that I have you attention, this poor card was so easy, but managed to drive me nuts! I did 2 very stupid mistakes on it, too bad, as it might have been quite pretty! First thing I managed to do, was I forgot that I shouldn't have inked all the stem in the green, just part of it, second was after adding my adhesive and getting ready to carefully place it on the background cardstock, I dropped it on it! Well, you all know what that means, where it landed is where it stays. I was trying some of the new Ad Tech Adhesive, and let me tell you it sticks good!

I was somewhat copying a card from the new SU catty. I added some bling (stickles and gems) and a ribbon. I sponged Baja Breeze for the background under the flowers! Now this would be a great card for a workshop, as it was quite quick (without the mistakes)! It seems that everything I touched today was like that, I am going to an all day scrapbook fund raiser tomorrow~I need the break! One good thing today, My Shimmerz Blingz order came in, so I can play with that on Sunday!!!

Recipe:

Paper: SU Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White

Ink: SU Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Kiwi Kiss

Stamp Set: Pretty Amazing

Accessories: Stickles, gems, ribbon, SU ticket corner punch

Yet More Swap Cards!

Another group of cards I did for some swaps I am in. After I mail these out, I only have two more card swaps to do...thank goodness.....then I can actually spend more time on doing what I want! I do have other swaps, but, they are not cards, and I have plenty of time to do them! My biggest problem is, I wait til the last minute. I also have not beenout to Michael's, or any of the paper stores since before Christmas, and my Valentine supply was nil, so I had to get a little creative!
First card is for a Cuttlebug swap, I have to say these cards look much more elegant and nicer "in person"! I saw a sililar card on a blog and cased it a little bit, changing it to what I had at hand!
The last two cards are Valentine swaps, one for adult and one for kids...just thought I would share.....hopefully now I can come back with more "creative" cards!

Saturday Night Fun

A couple of my friends and I got together yesterday afternoon and we worked on lots of Valentine projects. I wish I would of gotten some photo's of their creations! I made this little pizza box and another heart bag. This bag is larger then the one on my previous post. I used a templete from the SU site for this one. I also worked on a banner using my Big Shot, but its not complete yet, so maybe I can post it later this week! I also made a couple little boxes, but need to decorate them yet. We had lots of fun and ate lots of "goodies"! Helped put up with the "cabin fever" we are all living with...the winter has been the pits!

Chocolate Swap ~ Does This Make My Butt Look Big?

Okay, now that I have your attention from my title, I'll tell you what it means! I am in a chocolate swap as was mentioned before in my previous posts (turtles). I was in 4 groups and just completed my last ones. Whew! It took more time than I thought. There are six people in each group and we are to send chocolate, decorated however we want. that means I will get 20 chocolate packages back, all different. It has been fun getting them, and fun to make. Now for the explanation, I have a warped sense of humor at times, and decided to use a "Chunky" bar for one of my groups, stamped a hippo, punched out a flower and put it on her butt, hence, that is where the "Does This Make My Butt Look Big?" comes from, right below in it in the bag is the "chunky"!
The other one is a peppermint bark, so I wrapped those in DS paper that was "doggie" and cut out "woof" on my cricket...simple, but its cute. The last group is getting a Valentine "cracker"..this one is my favorite, as I love the vintage Valentine look , and it has "that look". these "crackers are FULL of chocolate! So what do you think? Would you be happy to receive any of these??? Also, how do you like my new blog look????

Midwest Freezing Temps!

January 15th 8:00am~~~~click on photo for better detail!

January 14th 7:30am

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! this is what we are dealing with in the Midwest, below zero temps! Its so cold that yesterday in the cabin, I thought of putting my gloves on...no kidding! The only thing that stopped me, was, it was too hard to use my keyboard on the comp.!! I took the early morning photo yesterday, the others I JUST took this morning, its very pretty, but I am worried about losing power, if that happens, as my hubby puts it "We are done"! Meaning the pipes will freeze (let alone us), so I'm praying that doesn't happen! Anyhow if you are somewhere "warm", I envy you! I heard its only 63 in Key West, hey I would take that!!! Click on the photos for better detail

Last Two Card Sets for Mega Swap

These are the last two sets of cards I finished for the Mega Swap! I had to hurry up and mail them today, as our weather predicted for this late afternoon and tomorrow is "nuts"!
First card is for the group "Women's Birthday", but it could be used for almost anything as I didn't add a birthday sentiment! I used my favorite SU DS paper (at this moment, as I haven't seen the new catty...yet!), called Bella Rose, I decided I could use it, since it is going to be in the new catty again...yippee! I used the SU A Rose Is A Rose set, I LOVE this set, as its a two step stamp technique and is so darn pretty when stamped. I stamped 18 leaves, 3 for each card, and 12 roses, though I only used one for each card. I cut all 18 leaves and 6 roses out and mounted them all on foam dots. I think they turned out pretty!
The next card was for the Baby Boy Group. I had a little more in mind to do, but once I watched the weather "warning" I thought I had better get a move on! My hubby bought me both the Martha Stewart crown punch and the elephant punch for Christmas. I love that elephant as it embosses his ear, so it stands up...so cute....I had fun punching these little elephants. I printed the sentiment on my computer, I know the crown is a bit big for the "ellies" but I like it that way! I have one more swap to complete for this month, that I hope to finish in next few days, then I can get back to my own card and paper making! I will lso post the rest of my chocolates frommy chocolate swap soon! Don't forget to scroll on down for the link for a couple of blog candys, they are yummy!

You Make Me Happy

Side view of the card
Isn't she the cutest???

I created this card, just messing around with the accordian flower idea in the new SU Sale-A-Bration catalogue. I used all SU products for this card, with the exception of the cord I used for the stem. I put my Big Shot to good use using the Top Note Die, just folded a piece of cardstock and moved it down a little to make a"fold over piece", you can tell more what I mean by looking at the second photo.
Recipe:
Cardstock: Pretty In Pink, Kraft, Ds paper is retired Old Olive and the beautiful Bella Rose (flower)
Ink: Riding Hood Red (of course)
Stamp Set: Boho Backgrounds (it was still sitting on my table from yesterday, what can I say!)
Accessories: SU button, Big Shot, Top Note Die, Old Olive Ribbon, Cord, SU Scalloped Edge Punch
Second group of photo's are of "Nellie" my baby, Nellie is a GoldenDoodle, her daddy is a big, standard poodle (red), and her mommy is a Golden Retriever). She is on our bed (please overlook the fact that is isn't made yet, hey its Sunday after all! I just love her so much, I call her my "lifeline", she just keeps me going!

Cards For Mega Swap

Baby Girl Card Swap

St Patrick'd Day Card Swap

Easter Card Swap

Valentines Day Card Swap

These are some cards I did for a Mega Swap I am in. I brought out a few "old friends" to make my cards with. Seems I am always getting hung up on using mostly the new SU "IN COLORS", along with my all time favorite "chocolate chip", so I grabbed some of the other great colors for a change!
For the Baby girl challenge, I used Purely Pomegranate, and DS paper from Heidi Grace...I love her papers! I cut the onsie out with my Cricut and stamped it with BoHo Backgrounds.
The ST Patrick's Day cards are made with Wild Wasabi. I decided to make shaker cards, but of course ran out of the thick foam, so I had to improvise....but they turned out "okay"! This was a challenge for me to do, as I only own a 99 cent and 1 $1 Michael's St. Patty's Day stamps!
For the Easter swap card, I used Elegant Eggplant and So Saffron, and my oval "Nesties"....was trying to get an "egg" look! I purchased this older, retired SU stamp set last summer at a garage sale for only $2...woowho! I stamped the bunnies, but couldn't help myself, had to add stickles to all the little stamped bunny dots!
The Valentine swap card is a "replica" of a previous post, just changed ink colors to Rose Red and used a non SU DS paper for the Top Note Die.
I still have 2 more sets to make for this swap, they are being mailed on Monday...thank goodness! The swaps have been lots of fun, but I think I signed up for way too many, must be the cold, boring days, I haven't been out of the house since last Friday...we are going to Walmart today in the cold~blowing snow, but think I am looking forward to it!

Valentine Heart Bag

Front of Heart Bag
Side View of Bag

I saw this on a blog this morning and fell in love with it! I have to go back and see if I can find it to give credit where credit is due. The blog I saw it on, hers was much more professional, as she knew how to make it. She gave pictures of each step which helped lots, but I still struggled with it, trying to get the measurements right, this is the second one I made, the first one got "tossed"!
I used a SU rub-on, on some white ribbon for the little banner.....I just love this little "Valentine".....the heart was made with the heart stamp from the SU "Always" set...this is another of my favorites, but I think I say that with all of them!
I saw a few "sneak peaks" this morning of whats in the new catty, and all I can say is "WOWSIE!"...it is LOADED with new stuff, so glad I am a demo as its so exciting!!!

Season Of Friendship Tree and Stickles

After Christmas I was playing around with my Cricut and my SU Season of Friendship set, these are 3 quick cards I came up with, The second card I used the Cricut cartridge Walk In My Garden and used the bleeding hearts and I used Stickles on all of them...just messing around and put these together!

Always On My Mind.....for you Rhonda!

Always On My Mind Valentine card made using ALL Stampin'Up! products. This is a fast card and great for demo workshops. I love how it turned out!

The Recipe:

Papers: Designer Paper Bella Rose, cardstock is Riding Hood Red and Pink Pirouette

Inks: Riding Hood Red

Stamp set: Always

Acessories: Top Note Die, Clips, Stampin' Dimensionals
