Rustic Rooster

I have been wanting this Stampin Up" Rustic Rooster Hostess set since it was released! It just arrived on my door step yesterday and I couldn't wait to stamp it out! Only thing is, when I went to my stamp room to do just that, my tables were a complete mess! I had made a journal for a swap I was in,, and I had stuff everywhere! That being the case, I decided to use what was laying out and made these two cards mostly out of scrap! These aren't the "visions" I had planned on making, but I have been seeing a lot of what they are calling "clean" cards on blogs lately (meaning, not a ton of layering), so thought that was a good way to get some of the mess cleaned off my tables! The second card I stamped the rooster on a scrap piece of water color paper, giving him an entirely different look! The DS paper I used I had bought for the journal, its from K & Company...I love it...has a very vintage look! As for the journal, I will post it in a few days, I don't want to ruin the surprise for the "new owner"!

Recipe: Stamps: Rustic Rooster, birthday sentiments
Ink: Riding Hood Red, Creamy Carmel
Paper: Riding Hood Red, Kraft, Very Vanilla, scrap DS paper
Accessories: CB EB folder, brads, ribbon 1" square punch

A Few March Worskshop Give Aways!

These were just a few of the give-aways I had for my March workshops...just love~love that Matchbox die, I can't quit playing with it! I used my SU punches on the box top, one is filled with 4 Hershey nuggets, the other is Cadbury chocolate eggs, I thought thye looked like bird eggs. I placed little pieces of "acetate" that I have been saving from packaging to make the "see thru" on the box top! I also used my SU Bigz Butterfly die to cut butterflys, and bagged up some ribbon..sorry this is so fast and boring...but I got up at 2am, its 10:20 pm and I can hardly keeo my eyes open, let alone type!

March Workshop Projects

I had my last workshop for the month yesterday. These are some of the projects we made. The Tiangle Tri-fold card was made using directions found on SCS...it was very easy and enjoyed by all! The tree with the tire swing is like several I have seen on other blogs, , but I think I found this one on Inking Idaho, she had some beautiful cards done using this set, this set has been so fun to work with...the tree is perfect for all seasons! The little flower pot I found on Stamping With Dawn...this was a favorite of all. We made several other projects, but I forgot to take the photos!!!

Cheap Talk ~Tweet Tweet

I finally took some time to use one of my new SU sets I received recently! I have so many new ones, and several from the "sneak peak" we got to order early from the new Mini Occassions, so I hoping to post a few new ones over the next several days!

I used the retired sky blue SU CS on this one, I wish so bad it was a forever color! I also used a small piece of SU watercolor paper and my SU markers for the image...I had it all done and then I dropped a drop of coffee on it, well you know what that did to my water color paper....took the color right off, so the top flower was not going exactly where it is, but I didn't have a choice. I added some stickles to the leaves and my flower centers, and even stamped on my "envie" this time. Tweet~Tweet!!

More Inchies and A Baby Quilt Card

I haven't been feeling well, so I spent an evening punching out lots of scrap "inchies"! This is my last 2 for awhile, but I sure had fun doing them!
I also needed a baby card, so made the Top Note Quilt card into a baby one! Short post, but am off to bed to "recoup"!

Top Note Quilt Cards & Inchies Cards

I have been in the "punch" mood you might say, as these newest "creations" involve using the square 1" punch and the square 1 1/4" punch! The first two cards I cased the idea from http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/chic_n_scratch/2009/03/top-note-quilt-.html and just love them! All the DS papers and Card stock used in both cards as well as the stamps are from Stampin'Up! The Tempting Turquoise card, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss it, the Kiwi Kiss one I just left as is...I stitched both cards on my machine...both are made using the wonderful and ever so useful Top Note Die!

The last two cards I made using the 1" punch and making the "inchies". I was inspired to work on these from my newest issue of Scrap and Stamp.....the entire front cover is devoted to inchies and I hope to make a large one to display~hang in my stamp room. I sat last night and punched out about 75 "inchies".....it was so fun to embellish these. One of my favorites is on the black card, I used a vintage old button with a "diamond" in it. These are smaller cards, approx. 4 3/4" x 4 3/4". So what do you think...good eh???

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Just a quick little Sunday morning post...the sun is shining and its going to be in the 50's later this afternoon...a "heat wave" for us "Michiganders"!!
I have 3 workshops this coming weekend, and have been putting together a few little "give aways" to promote the new SU matchbox die that will be available for order April 1st. I hestitated about ordering it, but am so very glad I did. It holds 4 little Hershey nuggets perfectly! My only "hint" in using it, is, I had much better luck with it, using a heavier double sided DS paper, like our new line SU is carring! Other then that, it was a breeze to put together, and so many possibilites with it......great for wedding showers, birthdays, baby showers, the list is endless...I think this is going to be one of my favorites, right up there with the Top Note Die! I'll have more to share later!!
PS: Want to "own" this die.....email me for details! My email can always be found by going to "My Profile".

Mini Spring Tags and Spring Card

Perfect Plum and Pale Plum card stock are the very first colors of SU cardstock I purchased before I even "thought" of becoming a SU demo. They are two of my very favorites, though I haven't used them in a long time! I was asked to make some Spring and Easter cards...so this is one I did...an extremely fast card but pretty!
Recipe: Paper: Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, DS paper, Whisper White
Ink: SU Pale Plum STampin Write Marker, SU Perfect Plum Stampin Write Marker, SU Old Olive Stampin Write Marker
Stamps: Bothway Blossoms, Blooming With Happiness (sentiment)...both sets are "retiree's"
Accessories: Ribbon, Brads, SU Large Oval Punch

The mini tags I made on Sunday when I made the bigger ones on my previous post. I used DS paper for the designs and just punched them out...fun!

Spring~Easter Tags

Sunday morning was a dark~dreary~rainy day~non-stop all day, so I cheered myself up by working in my well lit room making Easter and Spring tags!
I found the neatest thing (maybe you already know this and are way ahead of me), but I found that the Cuttlebug little embossing folders with the round designs fit perfectly in my round scalloped Nestability! I LOVE how they turned out! They are so much prettier in "real life"!
I used some Martha Stewart stickers I found at Michaels and then just other "items" I had.....I had so much fun putting these together! I have smaller ones to show later, I just wasn't able to get a good photo of them, maybe the sun will poke out later and I can try again! Sorry these pictures aren't the best either............scroll on down to see my other today's posting!

Kiss Me St Patrick's Day Card

A very fast card...simple, but elegant! After Valentine's Day, Michael's had this Martha Stewart punch on sale for 80% off! It wasn't one I normally would of purchased, but for about $3.80,how could I go wrong??

I decided to turn it into a St Patrick's Day card! I used a CB embossing folder for the back ground and one of SU's bold colors "green galore". The ribbon looks off white, it is VERY white, its just my crummy lighting on a dark morning!

Seventh Folder Seventh Photo~And Don't forget to enter for my blog candy!

I was tagged by http://papergoddess.typepad.com/we_will_always_have_paris/ to go to my 7th file folder and post my 7th photo. I am tagging the first seven people that left a comment in my post below this one, so if that is you...go for it.....tag you're it!

So, this is a shot of my Bee Balm from last year in my garden...it should cheer me up, but it almost depresses me, as it makes me want Spring even worse than I tough I did...LOL!

Three Little Kittens + Two and Blog Candy Reminder

I made this Three Little Kittens card last night in "honor" of the newest memebers to our family! Around Thanksgiving we had another "drop off" kitty arrive. When you live in the country, you are a "prim" candidate for that happening frequently. I tried to shoo her off, but she was hungry and determined to stay. Very unusual for this time of year, but she had a litter of 5 kitties yesterday! She is headed to the vet as soon as she gets her little family raised and we will keep her, she is a sweetie! That was the good news, and without going into all the "gorey" details, after several calls to the vet yesterday morning, I HAD to, as instructed by the vet, tie off all the cords and clip them. Now if you knew me, you would know that for me to do that without passing out and or throwing up, was quite an accomplishment to say the least! My hands were shaking so bad and I was crying so much, I can't even believe I did it, but as the vet said, I HAD to, it was a life or death matter.....enough said....kitties are well....my nerves have settled down...and we are back to normal...almost!

The stamp set I used is from Alpha Stamps, which I just purchased from "Addicted to Rubber Stamps", as they had a terrific sale last Wednesday! Don't be too critical on my "coloring" as the last thing I colored was a House Mouse stamp before Xmas, and I feel like I am starting all over again! the buttons I purchased yesterday when I purchased the blog candy! I added some gree floss to the center, as that is what I grabbed to use on the kitties"cept" theirs was red, so I could see what I was doing!

The DS paper is from Making Memories...it is a fab pad of somewhat a vintage look of 4 x 6 paper. The cardstocks are of course SU as that is all I will ever use, colors are Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette...I added a little Stickles for a slight "bling"
Last: Don't forget to sign up for my "super duper" blog candy to be drawn on Sunday evening! You can sign up on this post or the original blog post below for a chance~good luck!

Think Spring~Bird On A Branch

Another card I made while I had the set "Bird On A Branch Out! It seems I get hooked on a SU cardstock and run with it! For the last 2 weeks its been Cameo Coral.....it is so pretty for Spring! I had ordered 2 grab bags of stamps from "Unity Stamps". This was my first order to them, and it just so happened the day I decided to order, was a Thursday, seems every Thursday they do a blog hop with candy at the end and then post several specials. One of the specials was a grab bag of stamps (50) for $8, plus at check out, because it was Thursday, she gave us an extra 15% off. Now how in the heck can you beat that? And the stamps were "fab"! In case you didn't notice my "blinkie" on the left of my blog, there is going to be an international blog hop on March 28th. You just need to make a project using Unity stamps.....so fun...if you would like to join, just click on the blinkie and sign up!
