What's Your Hobby ???

When I saw this challenge at Impression Obsession
"What's Your Hobby"
I had to laugh, as I have so many hobbies how could I ever choose??

But then I remembered I had recently purchased this new dress form stamp
from IO that had everything on it...
dress form...sewing
flowers....gardening
and it's a stamp...stamping
how perfect is this stamp for this challenge...love it!!

I colored in the flowers with Copics and stamped the butterflies
twice more and "popped" them up
the rose is one I had already made quite awhile back...
so there you have it...my hobbies (there are more) but this covers it well..lol!!

Pretty Pastels

Lately pretty "pastel" colors have been "calling to me"....
I think it's because it has been so dark, cold and dreary outside
that a bit of "Spring Colors" are appealing to me!

I saw the layout of this card in the new Spring mini from SU....

I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it....
since I am in the "trying to use up what I have" mode....
it was easy to "recreate" this card.....

I am entering this in the challenge at City Crafters "all that glitters"
my "bit" of glitter is one of my butterflies.....

I also have been working on 4 scrapbook pages that need to be done by the 28th...
I have one completed, and the second one I messed up....hoping I can selvage it...
I will be back later with at least one of them...see ya!!

Fringe Cuties 4 Lily Tutorial As Promised

I did a little picture tutorial for you as promised......it is not the best tutorial you have seen
I am sure, but I think it will give you an idea of what to do anyway.....
These are super easy to make....I have one hand (my left) that had nerve surgery
and the results being it is half numb....so if I can do this, you can..Ha!!

The first picture shows the supplies you will need
self closing tweezers, florist wire, and the florist sticky  tape as
shown.....I also have used the Cheery Lynn Designs die Cuties Fringe 4
the paper I chose is a lesser weight maybe 65#....like the cardstock you get at Walmart
it is very good for making flowers as it bends easily and colors easily.....

First thing is to cut your fringe with your die, then start wrapping the florist tape
around your wire (a small piece of wire will do...maybe 5"), as you wrap it...squish it
on the wire as this is what makes it sticky......

then take your tweezers and just start curling each little fringe towards the flat edge.
it really only takes a few minutes, do every little piece....curl it all in the same direction

the trickiest part is to get your fringe started on your wire,

I tear off a small piece of the florist tape, put on end of the fringe over the top with a tiny
wrap around and use the florist tape to hold it in place
 (this might take you a couple of tries to get it going)

then just wrap the fringe around and around covering up slightly the flat edge as you go.
once it has all been wrapped around the wire, take another small piece of florist tape
and wrap and squish it over the flat piece at the end to hold it all in place....

thats it, you have your fox tail lily all done.....

Maybe one of these days I can get my photograher daughter to do a video of it....
any questions, just ask......but I think you get the idea.....

Hello ~Call Me Anytime

I made this rather large card out of mostly either scraps
or things I had already punched or cut....
I also made it for 3 different challenges which is something I don't normally do......
combine challenges that is...at least never more then two...
but it just came together for all three

the first is Papercraft Star to use the inspiration photo below

the second challenge is from Joan's Gardens to use polka dots, vellum and an oval...
my vellum is the white background piece I made with MS punches a long time ago
underneath the vellum are my polka dots as well as on the oval....

I am also entering this in the Unity "Friends With Flair".....
only thing required is to use a Unity stamp.....the little phone stamp
came from their set "Everyday Adorable"...
I purchased this cute little set just because it had a little tricycle in the set
and I wanted to use the set for my granddaughter...well, too late as she is now 7..
of course I can always scrapbook her pictures from years past with the set...

The card itself doesn't open, but the little phone card does....
I figured it would be a good place to put a phone number......

I hope to be back tomorrow with my picture tutorial of my fox tail lilies from yesterday....
that is if some family crisis doesn't get in the way...lol

Vintage Floral Cone

I have had several requests of how I did the lilies.....
  I will post a small tutorial in a few days....
it will take me that long to get pictures of each step...
they are however very easy and fun!!

Hot Air Balloon

I made this Hot Air Balloon for one of the grandkids birthdays...
very colorful and bright.....
I used the Cheery Lynn Notre Dame Cathedral die for the balloon
and Spring Basket 2 for the basket...
for the ballon part, I adhered it to sticky paper
added micro glitter I colored with Copics
only the top opens......
I might add a few little animal characters to "ride" before I give it....

Just for fun, I am entering it into the challenge at the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog
to make a "shaped card"

I think I am getting addicted to these Moxie Fab challenges....
I had lots of "notions" to use...but kept it simple and choose these...

that's it for now.....hope to run to the movies today to see "Safe Haven"
I love Nicholas Sparks books...so this will be a great movie I am sure!!

I have some blog candy to get out...if it's to you, I haven't forgotten...just not done yet...

Frame It

Last minute, while supper was cooking I decided to do a challenge

the challenge is "frame it".....
I used all Graphic 45 papers and chipboard
and the dies are all Cheery Lynn.....
the mini roses look so much better if you could see them...
I rolled the centers and glued them to look like a real rose center....
for some reason my photos make them look not right!!
A quick post, my timer is buzzing...so gotta run!!!

Silhouette Fairy

Isn't it amazing how fast time flies.....
I pinned so many neat ideas on Pinterest for Valentines Day
and never even got to do one of them....
I ordered a digital 2 weeks ago to make my hubby's card.....
guess when I did it??
about 30 minutes before he walked in the door...
I am surprised the chalk was even dry.....
Oh well, I guess that happens...
any who, I am sharing a card I did for a challenge at
It's been a long while that I have done a challenge there...
I am  so intimidated by all the beautiful entries....
but decided to give it a try this week.....
the challenge is "sweet silhouettes"......

I cut my silhouette with my poor neglected Cricut.....
added a black crochet doily with a Prima flower
and a Jeni Bowlin butterfly from my stash I "hoard"

It's a beautiful frosty~snow covered morning here...
cold, but gorgeous out right now, wish I could get a wonderful picture for you
it looks like a frost fairy came and decorated the entire landscape!!

Pick One Challenge at Flourishes

Flourishes has a new challenge this month to kick off their new Feb release...
the challenge is to "pick one".....
you can pick 1 thing from 3 sketches, 3 color combos and 3 embellishments...

I chose the 3rd sketch and turned it to fit my Flourish colored image
"Love Sweet Love"....
I colored the image in with my new (to me) watercolor inktense pencils....

I also the choose the first color combo of pink~lavender~cream
for the embellishment I choose lace.....

head on to Flourishes and give the challenge a try...
you could win the entire months release...
hurry though, it closes at 5pm the 15th.....

Red Negative

Did my "title" make you wonder...lol!!
I have been seeing lots of cards around "blogland~Pinterest lately
using the "negatives" from their die cuts.....
I have quite a large group saved up of these.....
and have to say the "fanciful flourish" from Cheery Lynn Designs
is one of my favorites!!

This very simple card was made quickly with the flourish negative
and a SU flower I had colored and cut out long ago
and pulled from my bits and pieces I am trying to use up.....
I am entering this card in the challenge 132 at Papercraft Star this week
to use "red"....
and at CASology week 31 to use "red"

I think I will be back later with a few more things to share...
have a nice Friday!!
and before I go.....

I was a bit excited to see my card "here" was chosen as one of the Tuesday Trigger
winners from the Moxie Fab World...what a pleasant surprise and honor.....

And also as an honorable mention at City Crafters with my card "here".......
it is so appreciated!!!!!

and as always...a garden photo to share...

as well as the pesky deer... crossing our creek on the bridge
to get to my gardens!!!

Love With A Flourish

This week the challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs is  "add a flourish"
I find myself using this "Fancy Flourish" lots and lots
and today combined it with a few punched foil hearts and
also another Cheery Lynn Designs die "O Tannenbaum X-mas Tree"
I love to use  and "dream up" ideas for"seasonal" dies for anytime of the year....
this beautiful die had a tiny star on top, I just replaced it with a heart.....
this will probably go to one of the granddaughters......

Don't forget to take a peak at my other posting today...below this one :>)

Cross My Heart

I saw this super cute inspiration piece at Moxie Fab World

as soon as I saw it, I knew I had the perfect stamp set for it
this set is from Stampin Up called "Hoop La La"....

the background papers are from a UK magazine that came in the package free....
 I think it turned out kind of cute...and since my mojo has run out of steam...
I needed something to get me going again....

Also here are a couple more of my garden photo's...enjoy!!
PS:...the kitty in the photo below is "Pumpkin".....
he was a drop off and lived with us for about 2 years, he has since moved
to a farm house with numerous other cats...
I miss him, he was HUGE, but it was his choice

Shades of Green

This week at Impression Obsession the challenge is "shades of green"....

I received some new stamps last month from IO and decided to use my
"new" "floral bird"...isn't he just "Divine"????

This is one of those card I started and just wasn't sure where I was going with it...
do you ever get days like that??
I added some little flowers I cut to his body to give him a bit of dimension
added tiny gems to the centers...they were picky and much rather would of
stuck to my fingers then the flowers...lol
I finally decided that it was such a green card, that a "good luck" was needed
and a few tiny shamrocks!!!
Different from what I have been doing......

Also someone emailed me and asked what papers I made my flowers with...
I use everything....however, if I am going to "shape" a flower...
I use a 65# lighter weight card stock.....otherwise its DS paper, fabric, felt,
anything I can get my dies to cut!!!

And then of course, here are more photo's from last years gardens.....
I wanted to add, that one time my hubby's daughterinlaw came to see my gardens
and my charming hubby told her that she could come and dig up anything she wanted...
I almost "came unglued"...lol...
and said oh no no no.....
if you want something, let me know and I can give you a start....
after she left I gave him heck and told him to NEVER EVER
tell someone to dig anything from my gardens...can you imagine!!
He now "shows off" my gardens...much better...lol!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Friends~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week at City Crafters its all about "friends"
I made my friend card extremely "simple"
I used a stamp set from JustRite for the sentiment....
cut a felt flower....and....
used up one of my many cut butterflies from my stash
as well as a scrap paper for background....
A quick card, but effective I think....
I am busy working on my project for my post
tomorrow at the Cheery Lynn Design blog....
I had this HUGE project I was working on...'but there is noway
I can get it finished in time, so am now onto a new one...
so hopefully can have the big project done for my last post at the end of the month...
Now a little question??
I have lots of glue dots, but need a super sticky one, one that will
last on my project forever, can anyone recommend a really good one???
Thanks...I might be back with a bit more today...we'll see...
it has finally quit snowing until tonight...but next we are back to the
snow/freezing rain mix......I need to get out of this house...
have some shopping to do, need to mail a few things to friends.....
maybe this weekend.....sigh!!!
Oh, and here are few more of my garden pictures...enjoy!!!
Tweet
I couldn't resist the challenge CFC88  this week at CAS-ual Fridays....
a clean and simple challenge to use words.....
die cut, stamps, stickers...any words.....
 I cut my little "tweet" on my Circut.....
used a bit of twine and a few punched hearts.....
now how could you get any simpler then that???
Don't forget to visit me on Thursday
as I will be guest designing on the Cheery Lynn Design blog again this week!!!
Challenges~Challenges~Challenges
Do you love a good challenge as much as I do???
I LOVE doing them....it keeps my creative mind going....
and I don't do them to "win"...I do them because I want to.....
but if I am selected, then what a pleasant bonus that is...
a challenge inspires me....
it makes me use up some of my stash...(so I can buy more...lol)
to see what others have created.....
the ideas are endless...
and sometimes I have even met new "friends" along the way....
My biggest problem is chosing which one to do.....
it is just FUN!!!
Now some more fun...
have you seen these new dies that will be out in May or so???
here is a video of them HERE
I had to order a few...just to "test them out"...lol
Now onto my challenge for today...
at "Our Creative Corner"
the challenge is a sketch and to get mushy...a Valentine
 here is the sketch
I have been sharing pictures of my gardens....
today I have a picture of my dogwood right outside my slider
the first picture is a "before" picture...
same tree...different look!!
the next picture is a "now" "today" picture....
I prefer the before!!!!!
