Skies Are Gray

Today at Double D we have a new theme and a cool new mood board.
The theme is 'When Skies Are Gray'
meaning we want you to use the mood board for inspiration and use GRAY!

I used a few fun things on my card and all are
never before used stuff or NBUS as our blog friend Darnell calls it.

I started with a Cuttlebug gingham embossing folder I had just
purchased from Michael's.
I swiped across the embossing with both
SU Going Gray and Dew Drop London Fog inks.

I die cut two 'ellies', a mama and her baby using a Tonic Adorable Elephants dies.
The ears, sort of 'pop' up, so I inked the edges of each.
I also added a google eye to each for fun.

The balloon is a Marianne die I won several years back.
I ran Versamark over it and used Sparkle N Sprinkle Super Thick Silver
embossing powder on it.
You heat set this from the bottom up and it is amazing how it melts..love it!

Last, I stamped a Hampton Art sentiment in SU going Gray ink,
then die cut it with Tutti Designs Scalloped Nesting Square die.
I used a Stardust gelly roll pen
dotting here and there along each letter,
giving it just a bit of sparkle!

You HAVE TO pop on over to the Double D challenge blog and see
all the amazing 'when skies are gray' projects from the DT...they are FABULOUS!!

The cutest little polka dot elephants in the world! Love how you captured the sparkle in the photo. There is so much texture on the mood board, but you did a fantastic job on this card. Gray skies usually mean a crafty day.

What a wonderful card design and who knew gray and white would look so fabulous together that way in a card. I love the extra sparkle too!

Oh, stop! I didn't notice that was an embossing folder! LOVE!! You did such a nice job of inking it up. The elephants are soooo adorable. It's such a neat effect the way you dotted the sparkle on the sentiment. I MUST try that! Love everything about this, Diane!!
